From the kitchen of Angelina Amalfi--FUDGE ECSTACIES
- 1 12-oz pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 squares (2 oz) unsweetened chocolate
- 2 tsp. butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- dash salt
- 2 eggs
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup nuts (as desired)
In heavy, medium saucepan heat 1 cup of the semi-sweet chocolate pieces, the unsweetened
chocolate and the butter until melted, stirring constantly (or heat in microwave until
melted). Transfer to a large mixing bowl to cool slightly. Stir together the flour, baking
powder, and salt. Add eggs, sugar and vanilla to the chocolate mixture and mix well. Add
flour mixture and stir until well mixed. Stir in the remaining chocolate pieces and nuts.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake in a 350 degree oven for
8-10 minutes or until the edges are firm and the surface dull and cracked. Cool onthe
cookie sheet for 1 minute. Remove and cool thoroughly. Makes about 3 dozen.
